    The month of August in London is placed under the sign of carnival and festivals: music, beers and open-air cinema !!!! Athletes will not miss the prestigious show jumping championship and the Emirates Cup!



     

    An exhibition dedicated to ABBA at the O2 Arena


    An exhibition dedicated to ABBA presents personal objects, photographs and an immersion in the life stories of each member of the group.

    For the first time, emblematic objects such as a limited edition replica of the “Star Guitar” played at Eurovision 74, the school book of member Bjorn Ulvaeus as well as photos, gold records and clothing are on display.

    The ABBA Super Troupers exhibition immerses visitors through its music, lyrics, creative process and influence on the musical landscape of the 70s and 80s.

    Exposition Body Worlds

    Conceived by the German professor Gunther von Hagens, the Body Worlds exhibition aims to explain the mysteries and the transformations of the organism by relying on real human bodies.
    This traveling exhibition presents a total of 200 bodies and organs kept intact thanks to plastination, a technique for preserving human bodies invented by Gunther von Hagens.

    With over 45 million visitors, Body Worlds Vital is one of the most visited health exhibitions in the world. Often described as a "life changing experience", Body Worlds will give you a better understanding of the complexity of the human body.

    August and the Summer Screen Outdoor Film Festival

    Take advantage of the beautiful evenings of August to watch a movie under the stars in the beautiful courtyard of Somerset House.

    To get the best seats, arrive as soon as the doors open at 18 p.m. and take the opportunity to have a picnic (glass bottle not allowed)!
    The screening of the film begins at 21 p.m.

    People's Carnival

    The carnival del Pueblo celebrates Latin American culture through many activities: parades of floats, costumes, dance shows, street entertainment and concerts of Latin music, reggaeton, tango, Mexican mariachi, Bolivian folklore, Peruvian panpipes). Each year, the Carnival del Pueblo attracts more than 100 people.

    Great British Beer: the beer festival

    This festival offers the largest selection of craft beers and ciders, as well as a selection of English wines, spirits and street food stalls.

    August and the Notting Hill Carnival

    With more than a million people, the carnival of Notting Hill is the largest in Europe. Colorful and lively, it celebrates Caribbean culture for 3 days.

    The carnival begins on Saturday with a competition of steel-band orchestras then continues on Sunday with the children's parade and ends on Monday with the grand parade (10 am-00pm).

    For security reasons and due to high traffic, Ladbroke Grove metro station is usually closed. Other nearby stations may be partially closed where only exits are allowed.
    Finally the buses do not serve the stations on the route of the carnival.
