Created in 1999, Fish! is a restaurant that showcases seafood directly from Borough Market, renowned for the quality and freshness of the products.

What is the atmosphere of the Fish restaurant?

With its Victorian glass roof and trendy decoration, Fish is a restaurant with a chic and elegant setting without being "stuffy". I advise you to sit on the benches to have an overview of the room and more particularly of the pretty oval bar.

The restaurant is very busy on weekends at mealtimes and as a result the room can be noisy. However, as the service is continuous, you can avoid this inconvenience by coming in the afternoon if you can…

The restaurant also has a pretty spacious and shaded terrace, ideal when the weather is nice 😉

What can we eat at the Fish restaurant?

Fish of course! And more particularly sardine toast, squid with chorizo, crab, octopus salad, langoustines, oysters and many other seafood products. All are rigorously selected and carefully prepared. And if you are wondering if there is fish n'chips, the answer is yes !!! This is what I tasted and I was not disappointed: a golden and crispy breadcrumbs, very white cod, accompanied by fries, mashed peas and a tartar sauce.

The restaurant offers no less than 7 varieties of fish for fish n’chips : cod, haddock, wild halibut, carrelet, stingray hake and fish of the day.

In fact, the restaurant won the “National Fish n 'chips” award in 2017 to recognize the quality of this dish.

Finally, for those who don't like fish, don't panic there is a small selection of meat with three different meats to choose from!

What can we drink at the Fish restaurant?

The restaurant offers a fine wine list with a nice selection of French white wines: Beaumes de Venise, Chablis, Montagny 1er cru or Pouilly Fumé.

I was a little disappointed by the beer menu which is not exhaustive and especially what a pity that there is no draft beer! However, if you like a light AND London lager I recommend the Camden Hells.

Who is the clientele of the Fish restaurant?

Mainly a London clientele and more specifically locals living in the area.

How much does a meal cost at the Fish restaurant?

So let's be clear, eating at Fish has a price that can be explained on the one hand by the quality of the products and on the other hand by the rather chic neighborhood. For comparison, here a fish n'chips costs a few pounds more than at Poppies for the same quality but with a more chic setting.

Count around £ 17 for a fish n chips and £ 5 for a beer for an addition of around £ 25 with service included. As far as I'm concerned, I forgot the dessert because I was sated!

You can discover the restaurant menu to know more.

Good plan to eat at Fish!

The take-away sale offers products of the same quality and allows savings of nearly 50%. The fish n 'chips are packaged in a cardboard box that keeps your food warm! You can enjoy it at one of the tables provided by the restaurant or if there is no room, head to the market where you will easily find tables and benches.

To find out more, do not hesitate to look at the takeaway menu.
